This specialised night serum in the form of a light emulsion with pure retinol 0.5%, 4% vitamin C and coenzyme Q10 has an effective anti-wrinkle and corrective action. By stimulating the skin to renew itself, it visibly improves its texture and firmness, smooths and reduces the appearance of pores and wrinkles. The content of soothing and moisturising ingredients accelerates regeneration and strengthens the skin's natural protective barrier, reducing the negative effects of building tolerance to retinol (i.e. redness, dryness or peeling of the epidermis).

The serum is fragrance-free; its slightly perceptible note is due to its composition.

Key active ingredients:

- Pure retinol with high stability improves skin density in the long term, making wrinkles smooth and the oval of the face corrected. Stimulates skin renewal, improving firmness, elasticity and resilience. Accelerates the replacement and exfoliation of the epidermis to even out skin texture and tone, reduce imperfections and reduce the appearance of sebaceous gland outlets (or "pores").

- Vitamin C in the stable form of ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate firms and firms the skin. It effectively counteracts sebum oxidation, reducing the tendency to form imperfections. Vitamin C has the ability to inhibit melanin synthesis, thus evening out skin tone and lightening post-sun discolouration. Mutually stabilise with retinol, so it retains its effectiveness over time.

- Coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E as powerful antioxidants effectively neutralise free radicals, slowing down the skin ageing process.

- Hydroxystearic acid significantly enhances the anti-ageing effects of retinol, supporting the stimulation of collagen production and improving firmness. Acting in synergy with retinol, it neutralises the harmful effects of UV radiation, contributing to the reduction of discolouration and so-called lentigines spots. 

- Ceramides replenish intercellular cement defects, strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier, accelerating its regeneration and effectively protecting the skin against excessive moisture loss. Together with cholesterol and pentavitin, they reduce the risk and intensity of the negative effects of building up tolerance to retinol, i.e. dryness, peeling and epidermal irritation. 

- The synergy of low- and ultra-low-molecular hyaluronic acid deeply moisturises the epidermis, increasing its elasticity and eliminating the so-called paper wrinkles.

- Trehalose, thanks to its hygroscopic properties, effectively binds water in the epidermal structures. 

- Willowbane Fleischer extract comprehensively improves the appearance of skin prone to oiliness or acne by reducing sebum secretion, reducing the visibility of pores and calming the skin. 

- Baikal Thyroid Extract shows strong soothing properties, effectively delaying the skin's ageing process. It becomes less sensitive, better hydrated and firmer.

Who do we recommend the Emulsion Serum with 0.5% Pure Retinol to?

- Everyone regardless of their skin type.

- Particularly people with acne-prone skin, skin with imperfections, enlarged pores, acne scars and post-sun and hormonal discolouration.

- People whose skin lacks elasticity and suppleness, with the first signs of ageing, with wrinkles and mature skin

- As retinol penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding SHOULD NOT use it.

Directions for use:

Apply a small amount of the serum in the evening to cleansed and dry skin, avoiding the eye and lip areas. We recommend washing your hands thoroughly after applying the product. Use the serum alone the first time to assess the skin's reaction. Ultimately, approximately 30-40 minutes after the retinol application, you can apply a moisturising and regenerating product such as Ceramide Serum and/or Ceramide Rich Cream.

Recommendations:

- Due to the high retinol content of the product, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding MUST NOT use it.

- When using retinoids, apply a high SPF 50+ sun protection daily, such as a light cream or light emulsion, and avoid sun exposure. It is acceptable to use retinol all year round, but stop using it completely about four weeks before any planned increased sun exposure.

- During the first few weeks of use, redness, dryness or irritation of the skin may be observed, as well as flakiness - this is the result of the skin building up a tolerance to this active substance. In this case, moisturising, nourishing and hydrolipidic barrier-rebuilding products should be used in addition.

- During retinol treatment, the skin requires increased hydration and regeneration. 

How to build up tolerance?

Always start with a lower concentration of retinol (e.g. 0.3% or 0.5%), either as a first treatment or after a longer break.

Apply the serum every fourth evening for the first two weeks. If there are no side effects during this period, you can reduce the interval between applications by 1 day as follows after each completed two weeks of treatment:

1-2 week - application every 4th evening

3-4 week - apply every 3rd evening

5-6 week - apply every 2nd evening

At this stage, you will get to the point where the retinol serum is already applied 4 times a week. Only when you are already tolerating the product well at this frequency of use (not before!), can you start using a higher concentration of retinol. To do this, take a 3-day break and repeat the above regimen with a more concentrated serum.
